Thanks so much for the outpouring of support since I last updated you on our situation at Pfeiffer's Hardware. Not only did many of you email me, stop me on the street, and come by Marx Cafe to offer supportand suggestions, we also had our 8th busiest week of all time, which is unheard of in sweat-drenched August. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

We aren't out of the clear yet, but we do have a plan, which I will lay out for you over the next couple weeks in these postings.

For the short term, we're doing things that are good for the store, and many which are good for you!

We are currently having a sale on all our premium Mythic Paint through the end of August. $10 off per gallon, $50 off per 5 gallon pail, and $2.50 off each quart. If we run out, we'll order more. It is not only zero VOC (volatile organic compounds) but also completely non-toxic and non-carcinogenic. No fumes, no smell, safe for babies and puppies and truly high performance. We are cutting back on our lumber offerings because they just don't sell, and because we would like to replace our discontinued warehouse lumber with a showcase of sorts for contractor items, like hot water heaters and other larger items (details in a day or so). Going forward, we will only be carrying the following lumber: 2x4x8' 2x4x10' 2x3x10' 1x2x10' 1x4x8' 1x6x8' 1x12x8'

Time to start that crazy DIY project of yours! As we are discontinuing the lumber that just isn't selling, CURRENTLY ALL DISCONTINUED LUMBER IS 50% OFF until depleted. So far, this includes: Plywood (1/2" and 3/4") and Drywall (1/2")

Important Anniversary coming up? Look no further than Pfeiffer's for a romantic Delta 10" radial arm saw. We're getting rid of ours. The model number is RS830 and the current retail price is at least $1500 when you include shipping. It has been used infrequently (the reason we are parting with it), is in very good shape with all accessories. We are asking $800. It pains me but we have had to TEMPORARILY cut employee hours at the store. That means we will only have one person working at the store some of the time, which means those items that require time in the back (mixing paint,cutting glass, retrieving lumber) will not be available during those times. The times when we will be fully staffed and able to send people to the back will be:
Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, Friday: all day

Monday, Tuesday Thursday: before 3pm
